Girl Crush- Charlotte Wasserman, It’s A Girl’s Life

Charlotte Wasserman is a fabulous young woman. She has started a true movement among her peers. I have had the privilege of knowing Charlotte since preschool. She and my daughter, Maggie, are the same age and actually graduated from high school together. Her mother and I, funny enough, are often confused for one another because we are both named Hallie! I am so excited for you to see all the wonderful things Charlotte is up to as well as hear about some of her favorite things. She truly is girl crush worthy!

Meet Charlotte Wasserman

Charlotte Wasserman, a freshman at Southern Methodist University from Cleveland, Ohio, is passionate about empowering girls to become the best versions of themselves through her non-profit, It's a Girl's Life. Charlotte has been working on It's A Girl's Life since its creation as a middle school blog, which has since transformed into a 501(c)(3). She has hosted several events for teen girls, primarily focused on teaching the G.R.I.T. (which stands for growing Guts, building Resilience, accepting Imperfections, finding your Team) formula. Her current focus, though, is on growing and being the host of the It's A Girl's Life podcast, which empowers college girls to be the creators of their own stories.

 Charlotte’s 5 Favorite Things

Kindle

I am such a big reader, and I love how whatever I want to read is all in one place. At night after a busy day, it always helps me transition from the day to sleep time. I usually read fun romance books like Every Summer After or Life's Too Short because the storyline is simple, easy to follow, and easy to pick back up the next day. These books remind me of the plot of New Girl or Gilmore Girls, some of my all-time favorite TV shows.

When waking up in the morning and getting the day started on a good note, I like to read some personal development books. I just started 101 Essays That Change the Way You Think, and my favorite lesson so far has been about people who are in charge of their emotions "don't assume that the way they think and feel about a situation is the way it is in reality, nor how it will turn out in the end."

Journal & this one for any Dallas girls

I feel better, more confident, and at ease when I can write down all my thoughts on paper. By doing so, I usually recognize one of two things, I need to give myself more credit, or there is so much to be grateful for, even if it takes some thought to recognize it.

The one requirement is that the journal looks good on a bookshelf when it's not tucked away! Because when you aren't using it as a tool for yourself, it can be cute room decor.

AirPods

There is no better confidence boost than popping in both of my AirPods and feeling like I am the main character on my college campus or even just running errands at home in Cleveland. I do love (and miss right now) a good grocery l run to Hienens with a podcast always playing, most likely Gals on The Go or Digital Diary with Hannah Elise.

A cute Waterbottle

Sometimes I don't drink enough water, but I believe that if the water bottle is full, I may be more enticed to drink it. I will always carry at least one cute water bottle with me at all times to stay hydrated between several cups of coffee daily.

Hu Chocolate Bars

I have a huge sweet tooth, and these chocolate bars are my go-to's to cure the craving. I really love the hazelnut, and almond butter filled ones the best. They are delicious after dinner, or if you need a quick sweet, pick me up at 3pm. You can shop for them at Whole Foods or Amazon
