What To Wear To Casual Gatherings feat. Talbots

Ok - so I am just going to put it out there and say what you’re thinking…

“Hallie, I don’t think of you shopping at Talbots.” And you’re kind of correct. Typically, Talbots is not on my regular rotation.

But here’s the thing - what you “think” is Talbots and what it really is are probably two very different things. That is the great thing, I expanded where I was looking, went to Talbots, and found items I actually love!

And I will go back to what I say every single time I have a sponsored blog post. My commitment to you, my readers, is that I only collaborate with and highlight products and brands that I genuinely love and would recommend to my closest friends, family, and 1:1 styling clients. The beauty of these partnerships is that I am allowed to pick what I like, and, in turn, what I think you will like. If I don’t find it valuable to you, I don’t enter into the partnership.

This partnership with Talbots worked just like that. Happily, I found A LOT that I really like. I was able to give them a long list of items I could see myself wearing. (I’ll link all of those items at the end of this blog).

As I was scrolling through the site, I was thinking about what was coming up in the next few months. And the truth is that while many of my clients have fancy holiday parties to attend, these days, my life is more laid back. If we do have events, they’re typically at a friend’s home or in a more casual environment.

What To Wear To Casual Holiday Festivities

Sometimes, these casual yet festive events can be the hardest to get dressed for. You don’t want to wear your typical Tuesday clothes, because it is a party. And yet, you also don’t want to wear a sequined cocktail dress to sit on the couch and play Cards Against Humanity with your friends.

That’s why I gravitated towards this outfit.

The sweater (which is so soft btw) has a matching scarf, which ups the look and the possibilities. It makes the whole outfit feel more special and less typical Tuesday. When paired with denim, it elevates the denim, and when paired with slacks, it gives a more lady-like feel.

And then can we talk about this coat!! This was the first piece that jumped out at me when scrolling - yes, I actually built the entire look around this outerwear! It’s like a grown-up polar fleece - part car coat, with a bit of sporty puffer, and a whole lotta cozy polar fleece. It’s warm but not heavy. And the cream color gives it a luxe look. Bonus points that it can be machine washed, too.

The bottom line is that this shopping trip to Talbots will not be my last!
