Fashion Stylists for Real People

#2 On The Trend List. Pantsuits!

Yep suits. Pantsuits.  We aren’t kidding. They are everywhere, and we’re loving them. These suits actually happen to be a little reminiscent of your momma’s suits from the 80’s, or maybe YOURS depending on your age (wink wink). The jackets are a little longer and boxier which give them that retro vibe. But to keep them current and not looking like a costume, the pants are more narrow and not as relaxed as their 80’s counterpart. The prints, patterns and colors are awesome.

Stylist tip to get more use from your pantsuit… Break it up and throw the jacket on with jeans and a t-shirt for an off duty look. Or, pair the bottoms with a chunky sweater and booties for fall. The possibilities are endless for the 2017 pantsuit.

5 Fab Pantsuits for Fall 2017

The Printed Pantsuit

Hallie’s pantsuit is the perfect example of a suit that can be worn together, or broken up for a more casual look. Wear the jacket with last years leather pants and a silk top – Saturday night perfect!  It comes in petite sizes too. It fits TTS (true to size) – Hallie’s wearing a size 4 jacket and size 0 pant.

The Colorful Pantsuit

We’re loving the bright colored suits and this pink is sure to please. The color makes the statement so the rest of the ensemble should be somewhat muted. Think cream cami and nude pumps.

The Plaid Pantsuit

A cool girl plaid suit that you can’t go wrong with because the whole kit (jacket) and caboodle (pants) are under $200.  This would look off duty fab paired with a denim jacket (even layered under the blazer!)

The Sexy Pantsuit

We find this suit to be ultra sexy. Wear it in place of your LBD (little black dress).  Maybe add a delicate necklace that hangs long and disappears into the jacket, to up the sex appeal. Styling tip – don’t forget the Hollywood tape to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions a’la Janet Jackson.

The Classic Pantsuit

A classic pinstripe suit with a modern twist. This jacket is awesome you guys, but a little style tip…It runs small in the shoulders. If you have smaller shoulders like Elana you’ll be true to size (she wears size 4 on top). If you’re a little more broad like Hallie,  size up (to a size 6).  As for the pants…they’re just GOOD! Want to support small business? Call our gal, Catherine, at Felt Chicago. (773) 772- 5000   She’s got the jacket in stock!

P.S. We’re sorta thinking that we should thank Hilz (you know, Hillary Clinton) for bringing back the pantsuit? (Even though these are a new and improved version).  What’dya think? Agree? Let us know.
