Fashion trends for spring 2023: Mom Squad with 3News' Maureen Kyle

When you're headed out to meet friends for dinner or happy hour, are you questioning whether your skinny jeans are out of fashion? Trends change fast, but before you make a fashion faux pas, we have you covered in today's Mom Squad.

Style contributor Hallie Abrams and Maureen Kyle talk about what to keep in your closet and what to toss out. And what trends you'll want to keep for spring.

“One is fringe. We are seeing a lot of fringe,” says Abrams.

“It's not that fringe was ever out, it’s just more relevant right now. So, fringe is great. You can incorporate it in a top, in a bottom, you can incorporate it in a bag, but don't wear fringe on fringe on fringe.”

She shows off a long silver sequin skirt with fringe lining the bottom. Sequin outfits were everywhere around the holidays, but can we still wear it as the weather gets warmer?

Abrams says yes! “I think that is a post Covid lockdown sort of thing, that people are like oh my gosh I want to be fancy, so we are seeing sequins sort of dressed down.”

The Wardrobe Consultant blogger takes us through when to wear skinny jeans, what type of jeans to toss forever and also what major changes we are seeing in jewelry trends.

At 3News, we’re not here to tell you the news, we’re here to share the stories that you say matter most to you. Share your ideas, thoughts, concerns and engage in conversations about the communities in which we all call home.
