Fashion Stylists for Real People

obsession

  1. Are you tracking?
I recently read about this new trend, mostly among teens and twenty-somethings, and was intrigued. It’s an app (there are a few different ones, I tried Clue) and I’ve used it for the last 2 months and you know what? It’s awesome! You’d think after this many cycles (I’m in my 40’s after all) I’d have an idea of what to expect, when, but, then again, things are always changing. Now, I just put the details into this app, and it takes all the little things, like energy levels, sleep, hunger, pain and emotions and sees the patterns I’m not able to, because I’m just busy living my life. It seriously helps me keep track of what’s going on with my cycle, like when I spazzed at my kids for NOOO reason last week, I looked on the app and a light-bulb went off – total PMS, ah-ha. Not an excuse, but certainly an insight.  CLUE cycle tracker And that, my friends, is why I’m eating waaay too many M&M’s as I am writing this:-)

2. Coloring books – not just for kids

I was gifted this awesome fashion coloring book from Sarah at the Paper Chronicles (check out her super cool blog here) and have been OBSESSED ever since! It is so fun and relaxing to color – I honestly forgot how much I loved it as a kid. And, I’m not the only one…Adult coloring’s got quite a following.

3. Necklaces

It’s a challenge to organize and display your jewelry, especially necklaces, in a way that looks good, protects the goods and is easy to use. I ♥ Etsy! I feel like the “shops” are curated by real people , solving problems in beautifully, creative ways.

I just recommended this one to a client – it’s so cool!

4. Facebook shopping?

Sounds weird, I know. But, it’s really pretty awesome! Check out The Find Auctions for your FB shopping fix!  This is how it works… Every Wednesday evening The Find posts a great item or find on their FB page. Pieces are pictured and described and the prices are REALLY reasonable. You then post in the comments “SOLD”, the size you’d like and your email – there’s a link for payment thru Soldsie. The only down side is that pieces are not returnable (because prices are so very discounted). I decided to try out this grey, swingy turtleneck sweater for $29!!!!!! It hasn’t arrived yet, but, my friend that told me about this site, said she’s received 3 things so far and has been VERY happy. If it’s as cute in person as it is in the picture, I’ll be doing the happy dance! Stay tuned…

5. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

With the cold weather comes dry skin. I received a sample of this B5 Hydrating Gel and guess what, I’M OBSESSED! A couple of drops takes care of my face and neck and the flakiness has gone away, hallelujah!

Quite a diverse obsessions list this week, don’t ya think? Anyway, if you try any of these out, DEFINITELY let me know!

And, Happy Holidays! I’m taking next two weeks off, but’ll be back with more goodies, shopping finds, tips, tricks AND a NEW FEATURE after the 1st of the year.

Wishing all of you a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful 2016!
