Ladylike Dressing for Fall; feat. Evereve

Maybe it’s ingrained in me from childhood… Fall means back-to-school shopping AND getting a new dress or two for the High Holidays. I still get super pumped up for the new fall fashions. Seeing what my 1:1 personal styling clients are looking for, needing and gravitating towards always helps me know what to share with you here.

Maybe it’s because most of my styling clients are women 35+, or because more modest dressing (aka, ladylike style) is really gaining traction. I wrote about it in last year’s trend report while digging deep into fall trends.

Anywho, I did some of my fall shopping at Evereve, and let me tell you—they hit it out of the park with ladylike style. Not only did I find fabulous dresses and skirts, but they are pieces I can wear in many different ways for the various “events” I have on my calendar. High Holidays, meetings, luncheons, GNO, my upcoming NYC trip… I’m covered, literally and figuratively.

Let me share some of my favorite finds:

1. The Black T-Shirt and Satin Dress

This LBD is lightweight, wrinkle-resistant, and perfect for travel. It can be worn modestly or off-the-shoulder for a bit more flair. The combination of a t-shirt top and satin skirt makes it truly seasonless.

Details:

  • Fit: I'm wearing a small.

  • Styling tips: It looks great with boots, pumps, or sandals. Belting it adds a whole new dimension!

2. The Faux Leather Dress

This is another fantastic LBD that looks strikingly similar to a much pricier designer dress that sells for $568, and this one is $148! It's incredibly flattering and versatile.

Details:

  • Fit: I'm wearing a small.

  • Styling tips: I've shown two ways to wear it: one for warmer fall days and one for when it gets colder. Again, boots, pumps, or sandals all work, and a belt can change the whole vibe.

3. The Faux Leather Midi Skirt

I loved my denim midi skirt all summer, so this faux leather version is a natural transition for fall. It can be styled in so many ways – ladylike, preppy, or even edgy.

Details:

  • Fit: I'm wearing a small.

  • Styling tips: I've styled it for the office and for a more casual outing. It looks amazing with boots or heels, and don't forget the belt option! It would also look fabulous with a graphic tee and sneakers.
