I LOOOVE Jewelry – Um, right? Like what girl doesn’t love diamonds and emeralds and rubies, and of course Cartier and Tiffany & Co? And,on the flip side, I’m also a fan of strategically placed “cheap”, mass produced jewelry to test out a trend or fit a budget.

But, by far, my favorites, the ones that perk up my outfits AND keep the compliments flowing, are my artist designed pieces. They’re the ones that give maximum impact and have unique details but do not totally break the bank.

For those of you in the CLE, you’re in serious luck – my two FAVORITE, GO-TO designers are each having trunk shows in town THIS WEEK!!! I think it’s a perfect opportunity to pick out your own Mother’s Day Gift – take the pressure off the spouse and kids and know you’ll get something you actually like!!

Both of the shows are at private residences, IF you’re interested, please let me know and I can put you in touch with the host and/or the artist. And, if you’re not in Cleveland, also let me know and I can put you in touch.

Go-To Designer #1.

Rachel Katz – Cleveland Show – Thursday, May 5th – 6-9pm, Shaker Heights – prices range from $175 – $7,000

I’ve been a fan or Rachel’s jewelry for a while – I blogged about it here . She’s not only a super talented artist (who’s being worn by like all of Hollywood), she’s one of those super cool (but really nice) girls that just oozes effortless style.

The Marti Necklace (named after her mom) is one of my most beloved necklaces – it looks equally awesome with jeans and a white t shirt as it does with a black dress – it’s vintage but still modern – basically, it’s perfect.

These triangle earrings are INSANE – If they look familiar, it’s because Taylor Swift wore them in her Bad Blood video – yep, they’re that WOW!

I’m pretty sure Rachel is bringing most of her line, so if you go to her trunk show you can try on all of these lovelies yourself and become totally obsessed, just like me.

And if you think it looks good off, just wait – it’s EVEN BETTER on!! I mean LOVE or WHAT?!? I know, I need hand lotion, sorry!

Go-To Designer #2.

Tamra Surles – Cleveland Show – Friday, May 6th – 12-4pm, Solon – most pieces are $250-$390

I picked up my first Tamra piece 8 years ago – an awesome crocheted raw pearl pendant (shown below) and there is not a time I wear it that someone doesn’t stop to ask me where I got it! Tamra’s pieces are really individual pieces of art. While they all use her technique of crocheting  – sometimes gold, sometimes silver, sometimes waxed yarn – they are all unique and completely mesmerizing. Tamra combines these crocheted shapes with vintage chains and semi-precious stones to created something truly amazing.

Me sporting 2 of my Tamra pieces – they’re on serious, frequent rotation!

I’ve found Tamra’s pieces to be perfect for women that feel they can’t wear BIG jewelry – they feel airy but still make an impact – I think it is because of the open weave.

I’m loving this tassel – if it hasn’t sold yet I may need to add it to my collection.

This is a new style for Tamra – I can’t wait to try it on Friday.

I mean, how great are these earrings? They’re like the perfect size for day or night!
