laura + graduation gifts

Graduation Gift Ideas straight from our Senior Project Intern.

We’ve had the pleasure of having Senior Project Intern, Laura Sherman with us over the past few weeks. She is an almost Hawken School graduate (in just a few days), and heading off to Indiana University in the fall. She’s super adorbs. She’s not just fashionable but extremely tech savvy, too (which is always a plus here at TWC). And, she’s brought a youthful vibe into our lives the last few weeks. Oh, to be young again…

And, since she’s in the thick of graduation time, we decided to pick her brain on grad gift ideas. It’s always such a dilemma, right? So, Laura’s doing the writing today. She’s sharing her gift giving list for the girls, AND the boys. How perfect to get advice straight from the mouth of babes!

IMHO, The MOST Wanted Grad Gifts and Gadgets

There’s always been a dilemma of what exactly to get a high school graduate as their graduation gift. Kids, like me are constantly being asked what they want. Honestly, we have no idea, and everyone gets annoyed.

While any teenager will appreciate a check with a couple of zeros on it, I am here, as a member of the graduating class of 2017, to tell you about a few more personalized gifts that will not only help your graduate in their future endeavors, but get them excited about their next steps as well.

Under $50 ideas:

An initial necklace with their birthstone attached is sweet, personal, and can be dressed up or down.

College is a time to update your wardrobe. Buy a new pair of dress socks for boys as a trendy update from their white Hanes socks.

As teenagers, we are constantly on our phones! Help us save battery life with a powerful backup battery.

Under $100 ideas:

Communal bathrooms, and dorm lighting aren’t always the best. A light up makeup mirror is a great way to solve the issue!

A belt is an underappreciated necessity in one’s wardrobe. Help your grad update theirs with a new belt.

$100+ ideas:

A  cross body bag, or clutch is perfect for a recent grad- it’s cute, small, and can hold all of the essentials.

A new dress shoe is the perfect way to continue to update a grad’s wardrobe. They can wear them to fancier rush events and interviews too.
