Under eye concealer duo

No matter what I do, I’m genetically predisposed to have under eye circles. Concealer is definitely one of my “desert island” must haves. I use 2 products and together they seem to tame the circles and also not get stuck in my under eye fine lines/wrinkles. To me, the not getting stuck, making it look more wrinkled, is a pretty big deal.

Ugh - I used Color FX in peach for years and I think it’s getting discontinued. I can’t find it anywhere - boo-hoo! So I’m ordering NYX color correcting concealer instead. Fingers crossed. The idea is that the peach counteracts the blue/purple undertones and then my actual concealer can do its job.

Cle De Peau concealer is my makeup bag MVP. It also has an SPF, so I feel like it gives me protection and dark circle coverage. I typically use the color Ocher and sometimes go one shade lighter in the winter. BTW, one tube lasts me 6-8 months.

Food

Grandma Glor’s Cookies

These are a family and friend favorite. There’s something about how generous the recipe is with chips and the secret of freezing the dough before baking that makes them so delish. If I ever want to get on someone's good side. This is the treat I bring.

Fashion

White + Warren Cashmere Travel Wrap

This scarf/wrap once had its own frequent flier mileage number - lol. Seriously though, it goes on every single trip with me. And now that we’ve started traveling again, it’s coming out of retirement. Perfect for the airplane (hello heavy duty a/c) and as an extra layer for an evening out - 12 months a year. Bonus, it comes in 14 colors.

Entertainment

The Auschwitz Escape

Historical fiction is typically my genre. During lockdown, I needed to read more chick-lit, my emotions couldn’t handle anything too serious. This was my first foray into a heavier subject again. My friend Julie recommended it (she’s a voracious reader and generously shared her book list - meticulously organized and rated on a scale of good to amazing). This was in the amazing category. In Julie’s words “despite being a Holocaust book, it’s an edge of your seat thriller.”

Additionally, with the steep increase in anti-semitisim and Holocaust revisionism (umm, hello Whoopie Goldberg) I thought is was a good time to read and recommend this book.
