For Now, It’s Quarantine Life

Cute comfy clothes and a pandemic quarantine is not what I was planning to write about this week. And I am sure being housebound is not how you were planning to spend your week (or weeks) either. But this is our reality right now and there are a few things that are helping me make the best of a rather yucky situation

Yes, I’m kind of freaking out, but I’m also trying to practice self-care and not put my current anxiety on my kids. Btw, pretty sure I’m failing on the latter, but I am trying…

Comfy Clothes

I’m 100% that person that changes into their comfy clothes the minute I get home. And for that matter take my bra off, as long as my kids don’t have friends over. And I’ve written about comfy clothes both HERE and HERE in the past. However, I think this whole quarantine thing gives comfy clothes a chance to be in the spotlight again… And many of you asked for it… So here ya go…

Loungewear and good ole’ pajamas.

What can we say, everyone needs a little loungewear in their life. Or, depending on the kind of homebody you are, maybe you need a lot. It’s been at the forefront of our minds lately too. If you follow Insta-stories, you’ve seen it’s the first thing Hallie does when she gets home from a long day. She throws off her street clothes and puts on the cozy loungewear.  And, Elana has been stuck at home for a few weeks with a bad back, so pajamas have become her new uniform.  And really, who doesn’t love a Sunday in cozy pajamas or loungewear! The days where you get to drink coffee in bed and might not brush your teeth until noon. Those are the days that call for the good stuff.

Scenarios for why having good loungewear on hand is a good idea…

-The Fed-Ex man shows up at your door in the morning. You don’t want to turn 50 shades of red out of embarrassment for what you might or might not have on.

-Your teenage children have friends sleep over. Wearing a decent pair of pajamas or loungewear won’t mortify you or them if asked to make pancakes at the last minute.

-Driving carpool in the morning. What if you get pulled over in ratty old jammies? Yikes! Wearing the good stuff is a much better idea than driving in those old holey t-shirts and bottoms.

-Unannounced visits from friends when you haven’t gotten totally dressed.
