Reader Questions Answered – Where can I find a casual summer dress?
You all know we LOVE when you write in with questions… Truly, some of our best and most popular blog posts come from YOUR questions. Like the “Is it OK to wear Pantyhose” post… it’s literally gone viral and is read by 2000+ people each week (crazy, right??)
A few weeks ago Molly sent in this question about casual summer dresses.
|I love your blog! Where can one find cute, flattering, well-made and affordable casual summer dresses? I struggle each year finding casual dresses for summer. I want something that I can wear out to dinner and drinks or to a backyard bbq. Everything I see in the stores is either practically sheer, requires no bra (I’m too old for that). shapeless (which makes me look like a pregnant blob or a square) or the fabric shows everything. Can you tackle this in an upcoming blog? Thanks!|
The Struggle is REAL
We’ve been running into the same issue with our one-on-one wardrobe clients as well. There are a lot of dresses out there but not a lot of the right kind of dress.
The last time we wrote about the day dress we focused on dresses as shorts alternatives. Meaning some of the ones we picked were short, or strapless or even a bit more expensive. But with this post, we’re changing it up…
What Molly’s looking for is a practical but nice looking summer dress. There’s a checklist of elements a dress has to have for us to put it on this list…
Must have elements for a perfect casual summer dress
- Not too short
- Light fabric (for warm weather) but that’s not see thru
- Affordable (that word means different things for different people) but we’re focusing on dresses under $200. Some as low as $20!
