It’s Time to Get Dressed Again – Spring Dresses for Passover and Easter

What a long, strange trip it’s been… With the one-year anniversary of the “two-week lockdown” to “flatten the curve”, it feels at once like both the longest and shortest year in history. Last year at this time, there was no thought of spring dresses. I was struggling to wrap my head around what quarantine meant in regards to the spring holidays (and life in general). This year, happily, there is hope.

Literally, I’m feeling an energy shift. Are you feeling it too? The weather is getting warmer, vaccines are becoming more available, people are joyful, and looking forward to connecting again! Just in time for the spring holidays too – Passover and Easter. Plus, the CDC said fully vaccinated grandparents can hug their grandchildren. So now we have a good reason to get dressed and celebrate!

Spring Dresses for Passover, Easter, Mother’s Day, Graduation, and more

For many years I’ve written posts on spring dresses for these holidays ( knowing that a spring type dress can be worn again for Mother’s Day, Graduation, bridal, and baby showers). There’s something about getting a new dress for a holiday that makes it feel extra special. Maybe it’s a throwback to childhood and going shopping with my mom and grandma for Passover dresses.

When I was little I’d need a new dress because I was “growing like a weed”. And the previous years’ dress was too short. This year, I’ve also grown, but not in the vertical direction!! So if you’re like me, and some of your favorite dresses from years past might not be fitting like they used to… don’t fret. Think of it as a time to celebrate your new size and do a little spring shopping. That’s precisely what I’m gonna do!

All of which is a long and convoluted way for me to say, I’ve been doing a lot of shopping for spring dresses. Here’s my quickie round-up of what caught my eye the last few weeks.

The Spring Dresses Round-Up

Lilly Pulitzer

I have to be honest, Lilly is not my typical go-to spot. I’m more of a pinch of preppy than an over-the-top pink and green gal.  But this season, there were more than a few items calling to me. There’s something so bright and vibrant about the colors and fabrics they use. And you’ll notice, most of what I picked out is not a “traditional” Lilly pattern. If the very preppy, palm beach vibe is in line with your style statement, I’d say go for it! Because this is the place and they do it so well. However, even if it’s not your dominant style, there are some fantastic items to fit all style aesthetics. PS I’m linking all of my favorites below.

This cute dress runs true to size. I’m wearing a size 2. And the shoes are on SALE!

Evereve

Typically, I find more casual dresses (and clothes) when I shop at Evereve. And I am including those in my roundup as well. But each season they carry a few pieces that can cross over to a dressier event. Not black tie, mind you. But a holiday, shower, or luncheon for sure.

Madewell

I love Madewell, for easy pieces that can work for an office (business casual) or the weekends. In past years I’ve been a huge fan of their jeans as well as their blazers. This season they’ve stepped up their skirt and dress game – I found a lot of goodness. AND there’s a SALE going on… 30% off if you spend $200 or more.

I love being able to style this skirt casually, with a t-shirt (size M) and sweatshirt.

And then I love being able to pair the skirt with the coordinating top and make it look like a dress. These are the ALLY heels – truly comfortable! USE CODE HALLIE40 TO SAVE $40

This dress is so easy to wear. Lightweight and modest. Tying it at the hem gives it shape.
