Join us in a 31 day Shop Your Wardrobe Challenge!
We will be keeping each other accountable and helping each other out with outfit ideas and styling tips in the Facebook Group - join and introduce yourself!
This challenge is inspired by the concept of No Buy January. My goal is not so much to save money, but rather to really take stock of what I already own and get creative with the clothes I already have. After the month is over, I will have a better idea of what I actually wear and what I can get rid of.
Below is the list that we will be using to guide our outfit choices each day and help inspire us to shop our closets. We know that things come up and you may need to wear something specific on certain days, so there is no pressure to follow this list in order. Use each prompt to inspire your outfit choice for the day, and try to complete all 31 challenges!
Before You Start:
31 Day Shop Your Wardrobe Challenge:
DAY 1: Combine a top and bottom you have never worn together
DAY 2: Pair two colors you have never combined before
→ ex. blue and black or hot pink and sienna
DAY 3: Wear an outfit that highlights your best assets
→ ex. A shorter skirt if you love your legs or a belt if you have a tiny waist
DAY 4: Create a monochromatic outfit
→ ex.all of the pieces are in a shade of the same color
→ I’ll probably do an ivory/camel outfit because I think those look so chic.
DAY 5: Wear an item of clothing you haven’t worn in 6 months
DAY 6: Wear a bold accessory. If that feels scary, pair it with a more subdued, neutral outfit.
DAY 7: Create an outfit using the Rule of One
DAY 8: Something you’ve always wanted to wear but were too nervous to
→ post it in the Facebook group for help on how to style it!
DAY 9: Wear something with a print
→ ex. floral or polka dot
DAY 10: Try layering accessories today
→ ex. multiple necklaces or an arm party of bracelets.
DAY 11: Go neutral on the top, colorful on the bottom
DAY 12: Dress down! Wear your favorite sweats and a graphic tee
DAY 13: Style your outfit based on your favorite belt
DAY 14: Combine two different textures together
→ ex. leather and sequin or denim and silk
DAY 15: Wear a wider leg bottom. Try saying goodbye to the skinnies for the day!
DAY 16: Wear your favorite black and white pieces
DAY 17: Layer up! Wear at least 3 layers (weather appropriate)
DAY 18: Wear an outfit that is out of your comfort zone
→ post it in the Facebook group, we want to cheer you on!
DAY 19: Create an outfit using the Rule of Juxtaposition
DAY 20: Wear a scarf
→ it can be around your neck or as a belt, or even in your hair
DAY 21: Wear your highest waisted pants
DAY 22: Dress to impress: wear something that makes you feel fancy
DAY 23: Incorporate animal print into your outfit
DAY 24: Create a business casual outfit - even if you don’t work in an office
→ ex. no jeans - try slacks or a skirt
DAY 25: Wear a bright color on top and add an accessory
→ this will be a go-to zoom outfit in the future
DAY 26: Wear a dress, but dress it down
→ ex. a dress with sneakers, combat boots or a sweatshirt
DAY 27: Create an outfit using the Third Piece Rule
DAY 28: If you have something in your closet with the tags still on it - today is the day to wear it
DAY 29: Wear something inspired by your favorite celebrity or style icon
→ Mine will either be Carrie Bradshaw or Olivia Palermo
DAY 30: Try wearing a column of color and a contrasting topper
→ ex. all black, pants, top and shoes with a unique or colorful topper
→ I’ll likely wear black pants and tee with a pattern cardigan
DAY 31: Create an outfit using black, white and camel
→ btw this is my go-to color combo when I want to feel classy
